The Cheese Bar….

The Cheese Bar is a local company that specialize in seeking out and introducing 100% Canadian  made Artisanal Cheese to locals and visitors to Essex County.  The initial focus is on local producers within South Western Ontario. Goats, Sheeps and Dairy Cows milk cheese are available through The Cheese Bar. A large selection of 30 varieties of cheese from 6 different producers.

Producers include Gunn’s Hill Artisanal Cheese, River’s Edge Goat Dairy, Monforte, Best Baa Dairy, Blyth Farm Cheese & Mountain Oak Dairy. As business grows so will the selection of cheese and producers!

 

A little bit about the owner…

 

My name is Sarah Barrette, I am 30 yrs young. Born and raised in Emeryville, ON. Studied Interior Design at St Clair College, and worked for Peter Anthony Design in Windsor, before moving to the Caribbean at 22 to pursue a career in yachting. Throughout the 6yrs in yachting, I have been fortunate to cruise the Northern Caribbean, Eastern USA, the Mediterranean and Northern Australian coastline and along the Great Barrier Reef. During my time off I have had the opportunity to visit Indonesia, Egypt, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, New Zealand and most of Europe. During my travels I have come across many different types of cultures & cuisines, been exposed to and served guests and clients some of the finest products available worldwide, and visited some of the most magnificent sites, from the Giza Pyramids in Egypt to Victoria Falls in Zambia, wine regions from Stellenbosch, South Africa to the Barossa Valley in South Australia, cities from Barcelona to Sydney, Prague to New York. I’ve worked in hospitality, from stewardessing on 65m private yachts, to head waiter for a large catering company in Sydney, Australia. I have over 10yrs experience in hospitality.

Now after a few years of traveling and working abroad I find myself returning to Essex County for good reason.
