Mini Makers How To Series:

Crudites & Cheese Board workshop

thursday, march 14th 10am-12pm

 

Join us in store for our second Mini Makers How To Series with Delfrescopure®. This workshop is ideal for kids 8-14yrs old with basic knife cutting experience. It’s a bonus if they enjoy being in the kitchen and learning about food!

Kids will learn to make a crudités and cheese board. The perfect after school or weekend snack. We will do a step by step, how-to from start to finish including how to wash, dry and cut the fresh veggies, placement on the trays and finishing touches. We will also include local hummus for a dip. Sonia, from DelFresco Produce will chat about greenhouses and the veggies they grow and Sarah from The Cheese Bar will chat cheese & how it’s made. Rosa Marello of @recipes_by_rosa will be leading the workshops. Kids will leave with their very own small platter for 2-4!

Creating a happier and healthier planet begins with educating and empowering the next generation with
feeling confident in the kitchen. We believe that cooking is a life skill and instills a sense of community.
Working with your hands has been proven to improve mental health and great way to stimulate the brain, provide
mental calmness and concentration. The hand-brain connection creates a positive feedback loop that can
really help you grow – that’s why it’s so important for children to learn manual skills and work on fine motor
skills, as it’s good for their brains!

Not only is the act of cooking a life skill, it can help build community through the process of preparing food,
sharing it around a table, creating conversation and connecting with people – LIVE and in person.
